3/26 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

And the rains came and made all the dirt trails muddy.  So much for our planned Shell Ridge run.  Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running an out and back course on the Lafayette - Moraga Trail from the corner of Pleasant Hill Road and Olympic Blvd in Lafayette. This is a paved bike trail with 1/4 mile markings and a dirt path next to the pavement.  Doug will be at the start to get everyone going.

A heads up:  We will be switching to Monday evening runs 4/17, the day after Easter.

Driving Directions;  From the 680/24 Interchange take 24 towards Oakland.  Exit at Pleasant Hill Road South.  Follow Pleasant Hill Road to where it ends at Olympic Blvd.  Turn right on Olympic Blvd and right again into the parking lot at the corner.

3/12 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM Pacific Daylight Time

Hello Dirt Dog runners, joggers and walkers,

This Sunday at 8:30 (remember daylight savings time) we will be running in Briones park, starting at the top of old Briones road.
I will be out early marking the trail, and Chris will be at the start to greet and sweep.
I ran the trail on Thursday and it is fairly decent shape. There are still some slippery and muddy spots, so wear your mud shoes, but in general the trail is runnable.
At mile 2.4 you will hear the Abrigo waterfalls (more of a drizzle right now). Getting close to the 20-30 feet drop is almost impossible so I don't recommend it.

Directions to the start:
From 24-680 split, head North on 680.
Take Highway 4 west (Richmond, Martinez)
Exit at Alhambra Ave and turn left under the freeway.
After about half a mile turn right at the stoplight onto Alhambra Valley.
Follow that till the T-intersection with Reliez Valley and turn right staying on Alhambra Valley.
IMMEDIATELY (After about 300 yards??)  turn left UP onto Old Briones road.
Follow the narrow windy road all the way to the top and park.
Hope to see many of you out there.
Happy trails,
Alex, Doug and Christ
