10/2 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM


Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 6 mile loop course on Shell Ridge from Rockspring Place in Walnut Creek.  Ginny will be out early marking the course and Chris will be at the start to greet and sweep.  This is a dog friendly course.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take Ygnacio Valley Road towards Concord.  Turn right on Walnut Blvd. which is the first light after Civic.  Follow Walnut Blvd to almost its end.  Turn left on Rockspring Place.  Park on the street where the Joaquin Ranch Trail crosses the road.

9/26 Dirt Dog Run @ 6:30PM


Monday evening at 6:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running our last Monday evening run of the year from the east end of Livorna Road in Alamo.  The run will be a 4 mile loop course.  Doug will be out early marking the course and Rick will be at the start to greet and sweep.  This is a dog friendly course.

The next run after this one will be Sunday 10/2 at 8:30AM.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 680 South towards Dublin.  Exit at Livorna Road.  Turn left and go under the freeway.  Take Livorna Road to the end and park in the parking lot on your left just before an entrance to a gated community.

9/19 Dirt Dog Run @ 6:30PM


Monday evening at 6:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 5 mile loop course in Mount Diablo State Park from the Regency Gate in Clayton.  James will be out early marking the course and Mary Ann will be at the start to greet and sweep.  Dogs are not allowed in the State Park.

We will be switching to Sunday morning runs October 2nd since it is getting dark earlier these days.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take Ygnacio Valley Road over Lime Ridge and past the Cal State East Bay campus.  Turn right on Clayton Road.  After going down a hill turn right on Marsh Creek Road.  Follow Marsh Creek Road past El Molino (our usual start) to Regency Drive.  Turn right on Regency Drive.  Park at the end of the street and walk down to Regency Gate.

9/12 Dirt Dog Run @ 6:30PM


Monday evening at 6:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running an out and back course along San Pablo Reservoir from the Overlook Staging Area of Briones Reservoir.  Chris will be out early marking the course and putting down mile markers.  Tina will be at the start to greet and sweep.

Dogs are not allowed on this course.

EBMUD Trail Pass Holders:  Please bring your pass and sign in for 4 runners.  Non pass holders should sign in with their license plate number using a pass holders pass  number.  Information on getting a pass can be found at  www.ebmud.com/recreation.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 24 towards Oakland.  Exit at the Orinda exit and bear right onto Camino Pablo at the end of the ramp.  Camino Pablo becomes San Pablo Dam Road as you go toward Richmond.  Turn right on Bear Creek Road.  Look for the staging area on your left near the top of the first big hill.

9/5 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM


Labor Day (Monday) morning the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 6 mile course in the Lime Ridge Open Space from Arbolado Park in Walnut Creek.  There will also be a 3 mile option.  Following the run there will be a pot luck picnic brunch at the park.  Water and restrooms are available.  Vivek will be out early marking the course and Doug will be at the start to get everyone going. 

We are calling this the Pattie Garrison Memorial Run in memory of Pattie who frequently ran with the Dirt Dogs.  Pattie died from cancer a few days ago.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take Ygnacio Valley Road towards Concord.  Go past the hospital and turn right on Walnut Ave. Take Walnut Ave. to the traffic circle.  Turn right on Castle Rock Rd., left on Northgate Rd., left on Doncaster Dr. to Arbolado Dr.   Turn right on Arbolado Dr. & park in upper lot of the park across from Sutton Dr.
