No 11/2 Dirt Dog Run

2.  Greetings

There will be no Dirt Dog run this weekend.  We will be supporting Save Mount Diablo by participating in the Diablo Trail Challenge which is Sunday morning at Castle Rock Park.  Information about the event can be found at http://www.savemountdiablo.org/activities_events_adven.html

Weather permitting, there will be a 11/9 Dirt Dog Run.

10/26 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM is a go.

The rain we got today shouldn't have caused the trails to get too slippery or sticky.  The run is on.  Looking forward to seeing you at it.

10/26 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running an out and back course on the Orsan Trail from the Bear Creek staging area of Briones Reservoir.  Dogs are permitted on the course.  Doug will be at the start to get everyone going and he will also have decals at $1 for anyone wanting one.

EBMUD Trail Pass holders:  Please bring your trail pass and sign in for 4 runners.  Information on obtaining a pass can be found at www.ebmud.com/recreation.

IMPORTANT:  Rain Saturday, Saturday night, or Sunday morning could cause the run to be cancelled.  Check the website or your inbox for a cancellation notice before you leave home.

Sunday, November 2nd many of our runners will be supporting Save Mount Diablo by running one of the Diablo Trail Challenge races.  Consequently there will not be a Dirt Dog Run.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 24 towards Oakland.  Exit at the Central Lafayette exit and turn left at the bottom of the ramp.  Go past the BART parking lots and turn right at the end of the road onto Happy Valley Road.  Follow Happy Valley Road until it ends and turn right on Bear Creek Road.  Make an almost immediate left into the parking lot.

10/19 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running the 6.5 mile Kings Canyon Loop course in Upper San Leandro Reservoir near Moraga.  Doug will be out early marking the course and Tina will be at the start to greet and sweep.  There is one good sized hill past the 4 mile mark.  Those wanting a shorter run can do an out and back on the Lafayette-Moraga trail which starts at the parking lot.

EBMUD Trail Pass Holders:  Please bring your pass and sign in for 4 runners so everyone running is covered.  Non-pass holders can find out about getting one at www.ebmud.com/recreation

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 24 towards Oakland.  Exit at the Central Lafayette exit.  Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and continue the right turn so you go under the freeway.  Turn right on Mt. Diablo Blvd. and immediately get in the left lane.  Turn left on Moraga Road.  Follow Moraga Road through Moraga where the name changes to Canyon Road.  Go about a mile past the catholic church and look for the parking lot on your left.

10/12 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 7 mile loop course in Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park.  There will also be a 5 mile short course.  The course offers excellent views of Kilkare Canyon on the way out and Pleasanton on the way back.  Doug will be out early marking the course and Sonia will be at the start to greet and sweep.  This is a dog friendly run.

Please join Breast Cancer Survivors Ellen Holbrook and Lisa Felder and others for the first-ever San Francisco PINKATHON, a FREE Run to support Breast Cancer Research, on Saturday, October 18, 2014.  Meet at 7:30 AM at the San Francisco Ferry Building, Northwest Entrance by Gott's Roadside.  Run starts at 8 AM. Run any distance you want – 10K, 10M, Half Marathon, Marathon or 50K.  This is a FREE, Unsanctioned, Do-It-Yourself Fun Run with No Fees, No Support, No Aid Stations and No Times – just a lot of cool people running to support a great cause!  The Course follows the San Francisco waterfront past Fisherman's Wharf and Fort Mason to the Golden Gate Bridge and into the Marin Headlands, depending on what distance you choose. Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 680 South towards San Jose.  Exit at the Sunol Blvd exit.  Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and make an immediate right on Castlewood Drive.  Follow Castlewood Drive past the golf course and turn left on Foothill Blvd.  Look for the staging area on your right about 1-1/2 miles down the road.

10/5 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running an out and back course on the Bear Creek Trail from the Overlook Staging Area of Briones Reservoir.  It's about 3 miles to the gate and 4 miles to the next parking lot.  Doug will be at the start to get everyone off at the same time.  Dogs are not permitted on the Bear Creek Trail.

EBMUD Trail Pass Holders:  Please bring your trail pass and sign in for 4 runners.  Information about getting a trail pass can be found at www.ebmud.com/recreation  Cost is $30 for 5 years.
