3/30 Dirt Dog Run Cancelled

2.  Greetings

The rains we've had so far this week has made the local trail surfaces muddy and filled with puddles.  This adds up to slippery, sticky, and somewhat dangerous footing.  More rain is forecast for Saturday.  Consequently there will not be a trail run this weekend.

Victor's reviving the Diablo Road Runners Saturday morning runs using a social networking site, Meetup.com.  The next run's been posted, here's a link to the web page
for the group: www.meetup.com/Diablo-Road-Runners.

Go check it out, join the meetup.com group if you want to, but whether you join or not, you're welcome to show up.  The run will start promptly at 8:30, so plan to arrive a few minutes early.

Our next run will be Monday evening, April 7th when we switch over to our summer schedule of Monday evening runs.  Hopefully we will see some of our runners who couldn't make the weekend runs and most of those that did.

3/23 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 6 mile loop course in Fernandez Ranch in Franklin Canyon.  Bill will be out early marking the course and Doug will be at the start to greet and sweep.  This run is a bit farther out than most of our runs so you may want to leave home a bit early.

We will be switching to Monday evening runs April 7th.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 680 North towards Martinez.  Exit onto Route 4 West.  Take the Franklin Canyon Exit.  Turn left and merge onto Route 4 eastbound.  Take the first exit after the Franklin Canyon Golf Course onto Christie Road which is just before the railroad overpass.  Use caution; Christie Road is a minor exit off of Route 4.  Fernandez Ranch is .7 miles down Christie Road on your right.

We look forward to your joining our run.

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 7:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 7 mile loop course in Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park in Pleasanton.  There will also be a 4-5 mile short course.  The run offers some great views of Kilkare Canyon and Pleasanton and features two drinking water fountains on the course.  Doug will be out early marking the course and Lutz and Tina will be at the start to greet and sweep.  Plan on getting to the start a bit early so you stay ahead of the sweepers.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take 680 South towards San Jose.  Exit at the Sunol Road exit.  Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and make an immediate right on Castlerock Road.  Go past the golf course and turn left on Foothill Road.  Go a few miles on Foothill Road and look for the park's parking lot on your right.

We look forward to your joining our run.
