3/2 Dirt Dog Run Cancelled

2.  Greetings

Some much needed rain has arrived this week and covered our beautiful running trails with mud, puddles, and small streams making for a slippery, uncomfortable surface.  Consequently, we've rescheduled Sunday's run for later in March.  Looking forward to seeing everyone out for the 3/9 run when conditions will be more enjoyable.

2/23 Dirt Dog Run @ 8:30AM

2.  Greetings

Sunday morning at 8:30 the Dirt Dog Trail Runners will be running a 6 mile loop course on Shell Ridge in Walnut Creek from where the Joaquin Ranch Trail crosses Rockspring Place.  Ginny will be out early marking the course and Doug will be at the start to greet and sweep.  Plan on getting to the start a bit early to meet the other runners and get started before Doug starts erasing the course arrows.

Driving Directions:  From the 680/24 interchange take Ygnacio Valley Road towards Concord.  Turn right on Walnut Blvd. (1st light after Civic)  Go about 2-1/2 miles on Walnut Blvd. and turn left on Rockspring Place.  Park on the street where the Joaquin Ranch Trail crosses.

We look forward to your joining our run.

Dirt Dog run Sunday 2/16 @ 8:30am

> Hello Dirt Dog runners and joggers,
> This Sunday I am marking a 6 mile loop course starting from Indian Valley School in Walnut Creek. Doug will be there to meet and greet and also sweep the course behind the last runner.
> If it rains Saturday or Sunday morning, the run will be cancelled because of the muddy trails. I ran this course on Tuesday and there was only one section that was slightly muddy; the rest was very runnable.
>
> Directions to the start:
> From the 24 - 680 interchange, in Walnut Creek, follow 680 North.
> Exit on Ignacio Valley and at the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Ignacio Valley.
> After you drive under the Iron Horse Bike path, look for Homestead and turn right.
> Turn left on (your first left) Marshall Drive and follow to the end and park at the Indian Valley School.
>
> From Benicia Bridge:
> 680 South to Walnut Creek.
> Exit North Main and turn right onto North Main.
> After you drive under the Iron Horse Bike path, look for Homestead and turn right.
> Turn left on (your first left) Marshall Drive and follow to the end and park at the Indian Valley School.

2/9 Dirt Dog Run Cancelled

2.  Greetings

The trails are currently sticky and slippery from the mid week rain.  Heavy rain is forecast for Saturday and Sunday.  This does not make for good trail running conditions.  Consequently there will be no Dirt Dog run this weekend.  Remember we are dirt dogs, not mud puppies.

Hopefully we can gather on 2/16 for a run marked by Alex.
